Documentary of the Month - Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts
Thursday, February 20 | 5:30 pm | Niceville Library

This film weaves together the testimony of historians, experts, and descendants of the Buffalo Soldiers with archival photos, reenactments and animation to tell the story of how newly free Black Americans enlisted in the U.S. Army, and in the process helped to both fulfill America’s Manifest Destiny and disrupt the lives of indigenous peoples at home and abroad. Black soldiers helped lead the United States expansion westward, helped build and guard the transcontinental railroads, and served as park rangers in places like Yosemite before the establishment of the National Park Service.

Age 18+ | Runtime: 60 minutes | Seating available on a first-come, first-served basis | Registration available, but not required
