Program Description

Event Details

An Ocean of Possibilities awaits when we learn about Recycling with Nonie from Nonie's Ark Animal Encounters, sponsored by the Okaloosa County Recycling Office. This is the most fun part of an ongoing effort to increase the awareness of our county’s recycling program and how it affects the wildlife in our backyards as well as wildlife around the world.

Nonie is a Wildlife Educator that has been presenting her unique, fun & educational, “EDUtainment”, presentations in our area for 25 years! She provides a one-hour program using 7 small, live, exotic animals that have been “recycled” themselves, well, technically reused.  We will meet a critter from 6 classes of animals while we learn about responsible pet ownership, how when we reuse & reduce the use of our natural resources and reuse things as much we can along with recycling them when possible we keep animals safer by leaving their habitats intact and healthy. Also, how we can save and renew the habitats to help the animals in our backyards! The most important R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Renew! Nonie adds another with RESPONSIBILITY!

This is an all ages event however,  the target audience is 3-5 graders. Younger children are welcome but they may not be as engaged due to the additional topic of recycling added to Nonie’s general animal program.
