Event Details

Did you know that January 5th is National Bird Day?  Have you ever been outside and seen a bird or animal that you wanted to see up close?  Did you know that you may borrow binoculars in a birding backpack from the library?  The backpack comes with  with birding guides and a map of birding hotspots in Okaloosa County to have a true birding experience, thanks to the Choctawhatchee Audubon Society.    The binoculars are Vortex 8 x 42 with a high definition optical system to provide clear bright views.  They are stored in a glasspak with a harness to make it easy to birdwatch.

Cmbr. Bernie Oder, City of Mary Esther council member and Mayor Pro Tem, has offered to share his extensive experience in using binoculars with us!  He will show us how to utilize the magnification features to spot details on birds, animals and their habitats from a distance.

Come to the library to learn about the special features of these binoculars and more on Monday January 5th at 2:00pm.

Registration is not required but preferred.
