Gary Powers, Jr. is the son of Cold War hero, Frances Gary Powers, the U-2 pilot whose plane was shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960, triggering an international incident.

Gary will give a talk about his father and the famous U-2 incident. He will also discuss his books and Steven Spielberg’s 2015 Cold War thriller, Bridge of Spies, (on which he was a technical consultant) that depicts his father’s exchange for Soviet spy Rudolph Able in 1962 at the Glienicker Bridge in Potsdam, Germany.
