Mary Shipko, Aviation Pioneer, Presents Her New Children’s Book

Come to the Destin Library to hear Mary Shipko talk about her life and her new children’s book, Daring Mary Aviation Pioneer. Mary, a Florida native, takes you on her journey from being born into an aviation family to becoming the first woman airline pilot for Hughes Airwest. She shares her love of flying and how you can learn to fly, then turn that knowledge into a career. Her story of courage and overcoming setbacks is sure to inspire. Mary will also teach how an airplane can fly, even though it is heavier than air. This program is for children eight and older and registration is not required to attend.
