The Niceville Library and Friends of the Library are excited to welcome Gary Powers, Jr. to share his knowledge of the Cold War. He is the son of Gary Powers, Sr., the U-2 pilot whose plane was shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960, triggering an international incident during the Cold War. He is the author of Enemy Territory (2022), Letters from a Soviet Prison (2017), and Spy Pilot (2019). Mr. Powers lectures internationally on the subject and appears regularly on C-SPAN, Discovery, and A&E. He is founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Cold War Museum, located in Vint Hill, VA, and consulted for the Steven Spielberg Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies.
